Purbeck Green Party Launch

19 September 2014

South East Dorset Green Party is delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Purbeck Green Party’ sub-group at this weekend’s ‘Little Green Festival’ in Swanage.

Billed as ‘a celebration of all things green,’ the Little Green Festival aims to provide information on green energy, climate change, and wildlife and conservation, as well as educating people about greener lifestyles and sharing the enjoyment of nature and great food with the community. All proceeds are being donated to The Dorset Wildlife Trust.

Festival goers will also have the opportunity to meet two of the local Green Party candidates that will be standing for town and district elections in 2015 across the region, and discuss anything from the recently successful anti-fracking campaign to other issues that come under the Green Party slogan ‘for the common good.’

Phil Christopher, Wareham Town Council candidate for Purbeck Green Party is excited about the future direction of the Purbeck division saying, “we are very pleased that we are able to create this presence for The Green Party in Swanage and Purbeck, as it is a beautifully unique area with many of its own social and environmental issues.”

The festival takes place at California Barn and Camp in Swanage over the weekend of 20th and 21st September. For further details go to californiabarn.co.uk or to discover more about the new Purbeck Green Party see our Purbeck page.
