One World Week at Cherry Tree Nursery

South East Dorset Green Party is pleased to support our colleagues at Cherry Tree Nursery who are holding a series of events for One World Week from 13th to 17th October. Sessions are being held daily from 11am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.00pm and this is their programme.

Monday 13th October
1.30 pm: “More than just a trade agreement”. A series of short films on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the problems it will create.

Tuesday 14th October
11.00 am: Water and Wellbeing An illustrated presentation by volunteer Anna about the work she is doing for her PhD on the links between women, water and wellbeing.

1.30 pm: Film “Even the Rain” By popular request we are showing this film about the Bolivian Water War: http://eventherain.com/

Wednesday 15th October
11.00 am: City food. Presentation by Sarah Watson from the Sustainable Food City Partnership

1.30 pm: YAWE. Youth & Women’s Empowerment Foundation in Uganda, an update by Carl Richards

Thursday 16th October
11.00 am: Renewable energy and Fracking Presentation by Dr. Martin Price from Friends of the Earth

1.30 pm: Film “Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth” Mayan rebirth predictions http://www.heart-of-sky.com/

Friday 17th October
11.00 am: Film “Heaven and Hell” Carl Sagan explains how change happens on earth and throughout the solar system

1.30 pm: Film “Occupy Love” Film about the growth and interrelation between grassroots movements http://occupylove.org/

There will also be a selection of fairly and ethically traded and locally produced items on sale.
