BCP Council’s Green Group, plans to bring a motion supporting calls for a ceasefire and instructing the council to be ready to offer support for those displaced and affected by the events taking place. The motion, which reflects the group's dedication to fostering understanding, support, and unity in times of conflict, is aimed at promoting peace and empathy in the wake of the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine.

Sara Armstrong became the sixth BCP Green councillor today, and East Cliff & Springbourne's first, with a resounding win in the BCP Council by-election. Sara's majority was 203 votes over the Conservative candidate, with Labour dropping to third place.

Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Green Party unveiled its list of candidates for the BCP Council election on 4th May 2023, at a big campaign launch event on Boscombe Beach. Councillor Chris Rigby, BCP Green Party Chair, said: "We're so excited to be launching our campaign today to #GetGreensElected right across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole on May 4th pushing for fairer greener communities."

BCP Green Councillor Chris Rigby has been quoted in the i newspaper's coverage of the Poole Harbour oil spill: "Local councillor Chris Rigby told i: 'This is unacceptable. Wytch Farm has been an accident waiting to happen for years.' Mr Rigby, who represents the Green Party on Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, added that the plant was meant to be shut in 2016, but Perenco had gained an extension until 2037."

Green Councillor Chris Rigby writes: "When I say some things are bigger than politics, an oil spill in Poole Harbour is one of them. Today councillors from the Green Party, Liberal Democrats, Labour and Poole People were all present at the demonstration on Poole Quay expressing our dissatisfaction with Perenco and Wytch Farm - along with loads of local residents."
