Chris Rigby, Green Party councillor for Winton East on Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole (BCP) Council, says: "In this time of the Covid-19 virus please remember to look after your mental health as well as your physical - they're both equally important.
"Make sure you're getting the best advice and use verified resources like the NHS website, the Government website and BCP Council's website for local information.
"A Facebook post from someone's mate Karen who once walked past a doctor's surgery might be what you want to hear, but is probably misleading.
"Can I also link you to Facebook group 'Covid-19 Community Support Group - Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole' which is bringing together the community and has people offering to help with shopping, pet walking etc.
"However do be careful who you trust and are willing to give money to as sadly some people will always try and exploit situations.
"For residents in my ward of Winton East, if you have needs or issues arise I'm contactable on email or Facebook, and I'll try and help you out or at least direct you to the correct services. Although this is for functional needs not medical in which case call 111 or in an emergency 999.
"Please stay safe, look after yourselves and one another."
