Bournemouth residents have responded on Facebook and Twitter to a local Green Party shoutout about the impact of the reopening of Leven Avenue to two-way traffic.
The new BCP Council administration has decided to remove certain traffic-calming "Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders" (ETROs), including this one, which had been cutting out local rat-running.
Our shoutout pictured what Leven Avenue looked like, with planters closing through passage to cars. Here are some resident responses:
Yes, I cycle this way to town and it was a delight not to be cut up by speeding cars using it as a cut through to try and beat people going via the lights. Extremely disappointed that it has been reopened.— Nikki Howard (@nthoward) November 17, 2020
