The Green Party of South East Dorset is calling for the Government to re-nationalise the railways in light of the cancelled bidding for the West Coast Mainline. The Party’s media officer has branded the Department for Transport as “Incompetent and not fit for purpose”.
In a statement Ryan Cleminson, the media officer, said “The department has cost the tax payers a lot of money by cancelling and re-running the process and it is not acceptable. Under this and successive governments train travel has become an elitist club due to the huge hikes in rail fares”
