The South East Dorset Green Party has today commended the Town’s university as it makes efforts to cut its carbon emissions. In a statement the Party’s media officer Ryan Cleminson said: “I commend the University and its moves to reduce its carbon footprint; it should send a message to others in the town that going green in respect of energy does make sense even in a recession”.
The plans were announced in the Student-run newspaper “Bournemouth Rock” and will cut up to 259 tonnes a year, which is working towards the university’s target of 30% by 2016.
