Our hard-hitting Party Election Broadcast for the local elections on 4th May was shown ITV1 and BBC1 on 19th April. And now we know that Teresa May has reneged on her promise of no early general election, and that there will be an early General Election on 8th June, we became the first Party to present its vision for a united, tolerant society for all.

We welcome the chance to reject the divisive policies of this right-wing, authoritarian government. Only the Green Party is facing up to the massive challenges of the 21st Century and today’s harsh political realities. I hope you will agree that the Greens are standing for a fairer and safer country.
At these elections we will stand for an economy that works for everyone, not just the privileged few. We'll stand for a Britain that’s open to the world, and for the protection of our precious environment.
Candidate nominations for the General Election have to be submitted by 5pm on 11th May, so we have to run an accelerated candidate selection process for the five seats we're responsible for (Bournemouth East, Bournemouth West, Christchurch, Mid Dorset and North Poole, and Poole).
Anyone who wishes to put themselves forward as a potential candidate should contact Ian Hay, our Elections Returning Officer, on ero@sedorset.greenparty.org.uk stating which constituency you are willing to stand in. Members should have already received a nomination pack by email. Nominations must be received by him by 5pm on Tuesday 25th April, and nominee statements will be circulated to members that evening along with ballot papers.
At our next monthly meeting, on Wednesday 26th April (7.00pm at Moordown Community Centre), we will be concentrating on hustings, voting and discussions related to the General Election, including your thoughts on which local issues you think we should prioritise in our fight along with the national ones which will most resonate with our electorate.
We now have the opportunity to stand up for genuine tolerance, a sustainable economy, and fairer society. Please help us, either by donating or coming along to our meeting on April 26th at Moordown Community Centre to find out what you could do locally.
