Colourful costumes, parades of dancers, marching bands, and children from local schools joined the Winton Carnival procession on Saturday June 24th, watched by thousands of people who lined the streets.
As well as the fun of the parade, families enjoyed a host of stalls, attractions, and live music at Winton Recreation Ground.
South East Dorset Green Party ran a stall, and despite the wind, members were able engage with local residents and have a lot of interesting conversations. Councillor Simon Bull was on hand to answer people’s queries on topics that concern them.
Winton Carnival is a non-profit event run by a small group of volunteers who aim to boost community spirit.
Bournemouth Echo covered the event, and their article, with many photos, can be viewed here.
