A second medical centre in Winton is to close – causing concern about GP access for local residents.
Banks Medical Centre on Wimborne Road will permanently close by the end of the year. This follows the closure last year of Winton Health Centre on Alma Road.
Simon Bull, Green Party councillor for Winton East, said: “When Winton Health Centre closed, patients were dispersed around other local facilities. After this closure, Banks patients will be able to attend their partner site in Bearwood – but that’s a bit far for residents to travel.
“I’m monitoring the impact of closures on access to local healthcare. I invite you to share any concerns with me.”
