Councillor Carol GardinerThere is one Green Party councillor on the 19-member Christchurch Town Council. Councillor Carol Gardiner was re-elected in Jumpers & St Catherine's ward in May 2023 - this time as a Green Party councillor.

Carol has lived in Christchurch for the last eighteen years, A Teaching Assistant, she also has a keen interest in the environment, history, education and sciences. She lives at St Catherine’s Hill with her husband and is keen on local history. Carol has done volunteering since moving to Christchurch, including at the Red House, Naomi House shop, and did work on the fallen solider in World War I for last year's Hundredth Anniversary. Carol is also a member of two local WI groups in the town.

Carol sits on Christchurch Town Council's Community and Resources committees.

According to its website, "Christchurch Town Council exists to defend the interests of all local citizens, maintain the values and traditions of fidelity and freedom in accordance with the town’s historic borough status and act as a local strategic asset manager, helping to maintain and create new public facilities and events that serve the public interest."
