Councillor Sara Armstrong (East Cliff & Springbourne) says: "Last May, myself and my dedicated team of East Cliff and Springbourne Green community volunteers started taking action to tackle the condition of road signage and street furniture across the ward as part of our commitment to 'cleaner, safer, greener streets'. "I'm pleased to report we are starting to see some green shoots of change! "The road signage on Spring Road after years of neglect has finally been cleaned of graffiti and given a much needed spruce up.

After 100 years, King’s Park Plant Nursery has permanently closed. BCP Council decided to axe the facility as part of £41m of further cuts to balance its books. Councils across the country are in dire financial straits, following 14 years of swingeing cuts to council funding by the Conservative Government. Green Councillors Alasdair Keddie (Queen's Park & Charminster) and Sara Armstrong (East Cliff & Springbourne) visited the nursery at the end to personally thank the staff and volunteers - and collect some surplus plants and tree bark to distribute to community projects in the area.

Green Councillors Sara Armstrong (East Cliff & Springbourne) and Alasdair Keddie (Queen's Park & Charminster) visited BCP Council's CCTV Team recently. Sara Armstrong said: "We were in awe of the incredible work they do to keep us safe, and help the police with their investigations."

In a unanimous decision, BCP Council has passed a motion proposed by Green Councillor Sara Armstrong, aimed at addressing the pressing issue of knife crime in our communities. The motion was seconded by Moordown Green Councillor Joe Salmon, one of several new Green councillors who joined the council this May.

Sara Armstrong became the sixth BCP Green councillor today, and East Cliff & Springbourne's first, with a resounding win in the BCP Council by-election. Sara's majority was 203 votes over the Conservative candidate, with Labour dropping to third place.
