Now that there is a new permanent Headteacher in place at St Luke's School in Winton East, Green Councillor Chris Rigby is once again helping with the development of a school travel plan. Chris has been speaking to Mr Godfrey and they are working with BCP's Sustainable Travel team. The first aim is to find ways to reduce the traffic congestion around the school at dropoff/pickup times. Chris added: "Once that's done, we can look at other schemes to assist the school, and try to make it safer for the kids getting there in the mornings."

Sara Armstrong, Green Councillor for East Cliff & Springbourne, says: "It was wonderful to be invited to celebrate the 1st birthday of Maddie's Miracle recently at Bournemouth Foodbank Garden Rooms Cafe. "Maddie's Miracle is a charity set up by parents who experienced a gap in the support available to assist with breastfeeding and perinatal care. They set up Maddie's Miracle to address that."

Green Party councillors for Moordown Joe Salmon and Kate Salmon have worked with council officers to ensure that new play equipment is installed at Moordown Recreation Ground. Last year there was another arson attack (see photo inset) on new play equipment which had previously been left uninsured by BCP Council.

Since the election, Councillor Sara Armstrong has been working tirelessly to establish whether money from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) can be used to improve the environment of Knyveton Gardens. She was delighted to hear that her application for £50,000 has now been successful.
